Message from the Registrar

Welcome to the Registrar’s Office web page. I would like to invite students in particular to visit our announcements since we regularly post new policies, procedures and deadlines in this section. Irregular students, those with warning and probation notices, and those with incomplete grades from the previous semester are strongly encouraged to visit that portion of our web page.

For general announcements that apply to everyone, even by the way of reminder only, I also invite you to visit the policies and guidelines section. Most of the topics are adequately contained in the student handbook. If you want to get the essentials, then this page on the web offers that.

Finally, we welcome your comments on how can this site can be more useful, more relevant, more informative to you. Drop us a line or two at registrar@letran.edu. May the year be fruitful for all of us.

Reynaldo V. Javier
Acting Registrar

Plans and Major Projects

No more Scholastic Grade Reports

Effective the end of the first semester, no more scholastic grade reports (grade slips) will be issued to inform students of their grades. Instead, these will be available on-line for viewing the day after the deadline for submission of grades by the faculty. Retention policies will be implemented by the system that also takes care of auto advising.

Digital Imaging of Inactive Files

This school year, the Registrar’s Office will start converting approximately 55 thousand inactive records into digital images, primarily as a backup in case disaster strikes our records. The immediate benefits of this project will be shorter service times for records requests since we no longer have to retrieve the physical record of old students and graduates before their requests for records can be attended to. According to the inventory done in line with the alumni directory project, the Colegio has had over 55 thousand students who either have already left the school or graduated. Over the last 11 school years alone beginning SY 1995-96, the Colegio has admitted 13,676 new students in all levels. Numbers in the preceding years are smaller. This includes students who were enrolled before World War II until the late 90’s. This number does not include the approximately 5,000 students who are in the active file. Contracting a service provider to do it for us will take approximately 4 months to finish with a total estimated project cost exceeding million Pesos.
